The fight between Gojo vs Sukuna was perhaps the biggest in Jujutsu Kaisen. This battle occurred at the start of the Shinjuku Showdown arc, and fans had been looking forward to it for a long time. Undoubtedly, seeing two of the most powerful sorcerers fight was every JJK fan’s dream, and this encounter was delivered in unexpected ways.
Gojo Vs Sukuna
Although this battle was lengthy and came out in many aspects, it was full of explosive action that kept all of the fans interested throughout the scene. The multiple-domain fights between Gojo and Sukuna were one of the most thrilling aspects of this epic battle. These two face five domain clashes before failing on the sixth attempt. All of these domain clashes were great for fans to witness.
Domain Clashes Between Gojo and Sukuna
Gojo and Sukuna domain battles began straight away. When these two started arguing, it didn’t take long for them to use domain extensions. Everyone who watches them knows domain expansions are the apex of any Jujutsu skill. A sorcerer’s cursed method cannot be fully realized without domain extensions. Given that Gojo and Sukuna were at the pinnacle of the age, it came as no surprise to watchers that both of them possessed tremendously powerful cursed skills as well as overwhelming domain expansions that could not be equalled by anybody else in the series. Both Gojo and Sakuna turned to using domain extensions on many occasions.
In total, Gojo and Sukuna fought five domain battles. The fans may wonder how they remained level after five domain wars, but when the sorcerers are of Gojo and Sukuna’s calibre, one simply needs to understand that they work on a completely different level from the rest of the world’s sorcerers.
How Sukuna Gained Victory Over Gojo In Domain Clashes
The first domain battle was quite interesting. Everyone watching had no idea what to expect from the domain clash at that time. Simply, Gojo and Sukuna extended their respective territories. Once they had done that, it was evident that Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void were evenly matched. Gojo claimed that his Unlimited Void outperformed Malevolent Shrine in terms of strategies alone. However, the challenge in confronting Sukuna was that he was dealing with an open barrier realm. Sukuna’s range was tremendous, allowing him to effortlessly attack Gojo’s territory from the outside. As a result, Gojo was unable to do much, and his domain broke. Sukuna unleashed a full-on attack, and Gojo was trapped in a barrage of slashes. It almost felt like Gojo would die right there, but by applying a completely reverse-cursed method, he was able to face the attack as if it were nothing.
Gojo then restored his depleted cursed technique with his reverse cursed technique before using Unlimited Void for the second time. This time, Gojo changed the conditions of his domain, both inside and out. To deal with this, Sukuna made a Binding Vow that could successfully block the sure hit of his domain within Unlimited Void. Instead, he increased his strikes from the outside, allowing him to get into Gojo’s realm for the second time with strong slashes. Sukuna won again.
How Gojo defeated Sukuna in the last Domain Clash
In round three, Gojo and Sukuna faced off once more. At this point, one might wonder why Gojo kept trying. However, given Gojo’s nature as a sorcerer, he would only figure out a way to cope with Malevolent Shrine after repeatedly putting himself to the test. Gojo made huge improvements the third time around. Gojo once again expanded his realm, unleashing Unlimited Void. Sukuna accomplished something similar. However, this time, Gojo decreased his domain’s barrier dramatically, making it the size of a basketball. This is something he picked up while inside the Prison Realm. Gojo used his experience from his time inside the realm to develop this.
This allowed him to greatly reinforce the exterior of his realm. To deal with this, Sukuna lowered the area of his dominion while increasing the strength of the Malevolent Shrine from the outside. Sukuna was able to break Unlimited Void once more, but Gojo was able to do enough damage to Sukuna inside the domain to shatter his Malevolent Shrine as well. This domain dispute ended up being a draw. Gojo was plainly on the verge of victory at this point.
In the fourth round, Gojo and Sukuna were similar. This time, Sukuna opened his domain after replenishing his burnt outburst technique, which he learned from Gojo. However, he was not as good as Gojo at this technique. Regardless, he was successful in regaining Malevolent Shrine, and Gojo also unleashed Unlimited Void. After 3 minutes of huge warfare, both of their domains broke, resulting in a tie.
The fifth round was the most important of all. Both Gojo and Sukuna used their reverse cursed technique to replenish their depleted cursed technique. However, Gojo completed it sooner, while Sukuna opened his domain slightly later than Gojo. Clearly, Gojo had an advantage, and after 2 minutes and 40 seconds, he destroyed the Malevolent Shrine and delivered a perfect Unlimited Void strike on Sukuna.
Gojo might have finished the battle right here, as he had planned. However, Mahoraga saved Sukuna since it had already adapted to Unlimited Void. Gojo’s domain broke as a result of the Divine General, and despite taking significant damage, Sukuna survived this domain clash, although Gojo emerged victorious in the end.
In the end, both Gojo and Sukuna attempted to expand their kingdoms for the sixth time, but because the former had recharged his burnt-out cursed technique far more than Sukuna, he reached his limit and could no longer grow his dominion. He began to bleed heavily from his head, giving Sukuna a distinct edge, or so one might imagine. Just as Sukuna attempted to end the war with his domain, it was revealed that even a brief visit to Unlimited Void was enough to completely destroy his brain. Sukuna was also unable to expand his realm, and the sixth domain battle between the two was cancelled. That’s how the clash between the two ended.
